    March 20, 2015, 08:57:07 PM
  • goldenfuture: It's warm over night here, south coast, not that it counts.  It's almost Spring most of the year except for summer.  Wet season, mowing grass; wet season with a little color change; wet season with no leaves and wet season cutting grass.  Splash a little sun in there here and there.

  • rjs: Hi everyone, I own 2 claims on the cadwallader and the hurley river down in the deep canyon. Its very remote and hard to hike into. The river is a 5+, some do kayak in there but very difficult. We hiked down the east side last year and hiked out along the hurley to gold bridge.Tons of black sand and flour gold on top.It took 1 hour to go down and 4 hours to hike out.Difficult terrain. The trip straight back up would be very difficult and time consuming.1000 m.From the east side, as we hiking we could see a huge old cabin and a bus of all things. My claim is 1km just north of that .Im thinking there was a loging road leading down to this cabin at one time.Trying to find an easier way down. From the look out point I can see old logging areas leading part way down.Anyway I love the whole area. The wildlife, the fishing ,hiking etc.Anyone who is interested in joining me this July-September?Must be a good climber/hiker and avid outdoors person and love to gold pan/snip.Thanks Rob

How do you tell when you have hit bedrock?
« on: February 04, 2012, 08:08:42 PM »

Well the simple answer is that it is fairly solid rock, though it may be igneous, metamorphic or sedimentary in nature, sometimes solid, and sometimes quite fractured, heres a few pictures of a claim I have on the Fraser River that demostrates this a bit........Greywolf

The last two picture show a quartz vein with interesting sulfides and there is some wired gold within the quartz as well........

That quartz looks like a good place to test out some detectors
