N.O.W.
« on: March 09, 2017, 03:03:06 PM »

submitted and applied for and now there's nothing left but wait and see.  Thanks for the advise and ideas from some of the folks out there. It was appreciated.  I found the maps to be the biggest pain but I'm convinced I was trying way too hard to be to fussy about scale and location of the proposed work sites.

I just hope it was in time to get a reasonable response and not the end of summer.  My fault for the most part, but we'll see.

It seems they are more concerned about having a defined "general work area", that you are sticking to your indicated surface disturbance to that area, and not so much that you are "digging a trench at exactly x,y coordinate".

We had to change quite a bit of exactly where trails, ponds and cuts were  (due to actual site conditions and testing results).  We indicated on our annual summary report map roughly where stuff actually ended up going  (trails, ponds) and they were fine with that.  It seems they understand that you do need to make decisions on-the-fly that differ from your original permit application, but as long as you stick to within your "defined work area" and aren't making huge changes to your plan, they are ok.

FYI - It was in 2105, but mine was submitted mid-May and I got it back full approvals and bond paid by beginning of July.

That's funny. I have a finger that always seems to drop first when typing too.

Kosoca,Thanks for the note to what might be priority to them sometimes.  I was really hung up on the mapping till sirpansalot showed me a copy of one of his maps. That sure took the pressure off for perfecting the map down to perfect scale.

I have to say they are extremely good at replying to emails. This morning I emailed them with concern about not filling in the digital signature and date for the application. After two emails back and forth everything was confirmed by about 1:00 this afternoon.

My application should be relatively basic because my plans are only for one or so days of excavating on the claim then reverting to hand mining the remainder of the season.

Yeah, 2105 was a fun year for sure.  Gold was up around $38,000/oz, the hover-excavator kept blowing out flux-capacitors, and we only had to wear SPF 1000 sunscreen.   ;)
